CHICAGO — State Senator Willie Preston joined Alderman David Moore of the 17th Ward, as well as other city and state officials for a public announcement regarding the development of a new Ogden Park Fieldhouse.
“This project represents a significant investment in the Englewood community, one that will provide every resident, young and old, with spaces and programs designed to help them thrive,” said Preston (D-Chicago). “The new fieldhouse will offer up-to-date facilities that will be fit to serve the community for years to come.”
Preston secured $3 million for the project in this year’s state budget. The existing 120-year-old fieldhouse is set to be demolished and replaced with a two-story structure that will include club rooms, a boxing room, basketball courts, a fitness center, and more.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin later this year and wrap up by 2028.
